Auld Reekie Lodge, opened year around, is nestled among birch and pine trees on the northwest tip of Gowganda Lake in Northern Ontario about three hours north of either Sudbury or North Bay. Auld Reekie is primarily a fishing and hunting lodge but with a difference. We offer SUPERIOR accommodation. Auld Reekie offers fishermen, hunters and families and small groups, accommodation and dining in a wilderness environment where the fishing, moose and bear hunting and snowmobiling is truly as good as you could ever expect. The lodge, rated ‘Four Star’ by Tourism Ontario, is situated two miles by road or one mile by water from the village of Gowganda population 76. Your Auld Reekie Lodge vacation will truly be an escape to the rugged beauty of Northern Ontario’s quiet wilderness, but what sets us apart from the ordinary are the creature comforts provided by our superior accommodation, dining facilities and quality fishing boats and motors. We offer either full American plan or housekeeping rates and packages for suites, cabins and cottages.

The fishing is great at Auld Reekie. Our lake extends for 35 miles. A contour map shows why it’s a fisherman’s paradise with it’s many rocky shoals, weeded areas, sharp drop-offs and stumpy shallows and holes up to 198 ft. deep. You can catch a wide variety of fish including Northern Pike, Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, and Perch, and in near by lakes you can fish for trophy Lake Trout. Continued...
