Black Bear Hunting

2009 Black Bear Hunting Report. Whether you are hunting for Moose, Black Bear or Grouse, the forest surrounding Gowganda with it’s old logging and mining roads, which penetrate deep into the forest, offer a hunting experience like no other. Northern Ontario is known for it’s abundant wildlife. Our Black Bear guide who boasts over 20 years experience pre-baits our sites and will transport you to the most active stand. Our success rate consistently exceeds 88% for the kill and 100% for sighting. We offer 2 different bear packages to accommodate your needs. Auld Reekie will not exceed 20 bear hunts per year, hence the success rate. To increase the chances of success, our guides use the many rivers, lakes and old roads, which penetrate, deep into the forest. The hunting laws in our area are forever changing. To keep you up to date, upon request, we can provide you with current information.

Modified Black Bear Hunt

Package Price: $1135.00 per person, per week, Canadian funds!
Package includes:
Seven nights accommodations in one of our beautiful housekeeping cottage.
Choice of a 3 course supper or breakfast and lunch combo

Active bait sights and tree stands provided.
Cold storage for any killed game.
Skinning and quartering services.

Bare Bones Black Bear Hunt

Package Price: $960.00 per person, per week, Canadian funds!
This hunting package is custom designed for those hunters whom are interested in a more basic bear hunt.
Here you will receive the same great service and pre baited stands. However you will be responsible for your own licensing as well as preparing your own meals.
Package includes:
Seven nights accommodations in our beautiful housekeeping cottage.
An experienced and dedicated guide.
Active bait sights and tree stands provided.
Cold storage for any killed game
Skinning and quartering services.
Unlimited use of our fishing boats, live bait and all gas is included at no extra charge.
Hunting and Fishing Licences, export permits for any killed game are not included.

INFORMATION FOR NON-RESIDENT HUNTERS

Passports will be required in 2009.
Must Bring with you an expired hunting licence from the state in which you reside.
Exporting a Bear or any part thereof from Ontario must have a NON-RESIDENT EXPORT PERMIT. They are available here in Gowganda.
