Auld Reekie Lodge is nestled on the west shores of Gowganda Lakes' largest peninsula. Gowganda Lake is 5 miles long, and is part of the Montreal River system .The Montreal River flows north for the first 35 miles then makes a U-turn and eventually blends in the Ottawa River.
Gowganda Lake, Stumpy Lake and Obushkong Lake are the lakes in the system coming down from the highest point in Ontario, Ishpatina Ridge, located a mere 20 km away.
Auld Reekie Lodge is known for its fishing, in both numbers and in size. We are also known for our quality Black Bear Hunts and the large number of Grouse in our area. Finally, we are probably most well-known for our great variety of Trail Systems, including snowmobiling and ATVing.

Accommodations for Work Crews
If you have a work crew engaged in an area project and need accommodations we can facilitate you. Mining exploration, prospectors, highway, electrical and forestry workers are just a few of the types of work crews we have had stay with us. We are open all year. Auld Reekie has been around since the 1960's and it has never lost its magic with the guests. The decoration in the main lodge duplicates a similar style to a British Pub. We are different and unique from other lodges in Ontario.
The mature trees that surround the grounds are majestically beautiful. The accommodations and equipment are up to today's standard and comfort. The services provided show our pride and our respect to one's vacation.
Lakeview Suites
Auld Reekie also features six Lakeview Suites with climate control. The pine interiors are carpeted throughout. The living rooms are separate from the bedrooms and feature cathedral ceilings with fans. Each suite is equipped with satellite TV, microwave, Keurig Coffee Machine and mini fridge.
The bedrooms offer quality and comfortable beds for a good night's sleep. Through the glass doors that lead to your private patio, you will find northern cottage style chairs waiting for you to relax and enjoy the calming view of Gowganda Lake. The four-piece bathrooms have been designed to give you the feeling of luxury.
These suites are for our guests that are on the Meal Plan.

Lakefront Cottages
When you arrive at our highly rated facility, you will find six tastefully pine interior decorated lakefront cottages. Of these cottages, three are chalet style and three are bungalow style.
They range in size from a two-bedroom, which sleeps up to six persons, to a four-bedroom cottage, which sleeps up to twelve people. All feature fully carpeted bedrooms, ceiling fans, four-piece baths, satellite TVs, DVD players, wireless internet access, fully equipped kitchens with such modern conveniences as Keurig coffee makers, microwaves as well as fridge, stove, toaster, dishes and utensils.
The bedrooms are furnished with two quality beds and have ample closet space for all your clothing and gear. All linens are supplied. You will find a BBQ with propane gas, chairs and a picnic table on your private sun deck overlooking beautiful Gowganda Lake.
You may choose to stay in one of our cottages whether you are on a Meal Plan, Modified Meal Plan or Housekeeping Package, depending on the size of your group and availability.
